About me
I am a Consultant Upper GI Surgeon at Guys and St Thomas Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust in London. My current roles are Chairman of the Regional Cancer Network, Service Lead for Upper GI Surgery and Surgical Lead for Upper GI Cancer.
The unit is based in a busy university teaching hospital which receives a large number of referrals for upper gastrointestinal cancer and complex benign disorders.
I qualified in 1999 and obtained a Master of Surgery degree from the University of London in 2007. I received a Royal College of Surgeons Research Fellowship Grant and was awarded a Hunterian Professorship for this work. I obtained my Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons in 2010 and am on the specialist register for general and upper gastrointestinal surgery.
