Mr Kalyan following his extensive unique experience for last 27 years from numerous world renowned spinal centres, exclusively provides service as Consultant Spinal surgeon in both Adult and Paediatric spine. Mr Kalyan’s passion is "to alleviate the pain and disability arising due to various aspects of spinal pathologies".

He has worked in more than 12 specialised spinal centres, closely along with more than 40 Spinal Surgeons, Pain Specialist, and Numerous Allied Health Spine professional, with varied view points and expertise. By attaining this exceptional broad experience, Mr Kalyan has gained expertise in wider spectrum of management of spinal conditions from simpler techniques to complex procedures. His broad training and experiences from numerous excellent centres under many legends, enables him to give his patients a comprehensive outstanding treatment.

His unique experience has enabled him to offer a dual hat role of both as Spinal pain management specialist and as Spinal Surgeon, which accomplish to provide a comprehensive care for his spinal patients. He also works closely with other spinal care specialist as required, to provide his patient the best expertise and care.

He predominantly treats his patients with simple non-operative management like Spinal injections, Rhizolysis, etc. and if required he apply simpler surgical solutions with appropriate minimally invasive techniques, with aim of achieving better long-term functional outcome. Mr Kalyan believe that “Surgical Wisdom lies in avoiding doing more, when less is sufficient”. Vast majority of his patients are very satisfied or satisfied with their clinical outcome and experiences.

Training & Others -
After his graduation in 1990, Mr Kalyan started his training in Spinal Surgery in the famous institution Christian Medical College Hospital in India. In 1996, he was elected for the travelling fellowship to visit few distinguished spinal surgeons. In Europe, he got advanced training in spinal surgery by attaining the prestigious fellowship in Germany (1997) and Paris (1998).
In UK, from 1998 onwards, he undertook further extensive training and fellowships in Spinal Surgery under various eminent surgeons in Edinburgh, Belfast, Stanmore, London and Nottingham. He obtained his accreditation in Trauma and Orthopaedics, by undertaking the Northern Ireland and Stanmore Orthopaedic rotations.

Mr Kalyan lectures in various meetings on management of spinal conditions. He regularly takes active part in teaching various spine carers from different background. In the past, as a Clinical lecturer in London UCL, he had excellent experience in conducting various courses and teaching programmes.
He has taken part in researches and audits focusing on various aspects of spinal conditions. He was awarded the MD degree and has won many prizes for his high-quality research work on spinal pathologies. His research on various aspects of spinal pain have enabled him to have great expertise in assessment and diagnosis of various spinal conditions and achieve excellent outcome in most of his patients.

Mr Kalyan has a methodical and comprehensive approach to patient’s diagnosis and management. He successfully treats most of his patients using simple non-operative measures like Spinal injections and Rhizolysis (heat denervation), Pain Management, specialised physiotherapy exercises, postural training, Patient education, Bracing and Appropriate other tailored made advice.

He undertakes surgery only failing the appropriate conservative treatment. He chooses simple surgical technique that is tailored to the individual patient's needs, to achieve the best long-term functional outcome. He prefers minimally invasive surgical techniques with minimal soft tissue disruption.

Mr Kalyan enjoys dancing, organising party and charity event.
