About me

I am a consultant Neurosurgeon in Leeds since 2009 and my workload is related entirely to the SPINE.
I completed my Neurosurgical training in Leeds and then undertook a nationally recognised one-year spine fellowship in Nottingham which is one of the leading spinal units in this country. This provided me with complete training in all aspects of spinal surgery.
I have a special interest in cervical and lumbar degenerative disease and my practice includes the entire spectrum of Spine and ranges from nonsurgical management of my patients to simple decompressive surgery as well as minimally invasive and complex spinal procedures.
One of my special interest is the LATERAL approach to the spine (XLIF) which is one of the most innovative minimally invasive techniques developed on the spine in the last decade and is presently performed by selective few surgeons in U.K. It has several indications including Revision lumbar surgery, adult deformity as well as trauma, tumours and infection.

We are seing a lot of patients in their 80's and 90's and surgery in elderly using minimally invasive approaches is one of my interests.
My other research interests are foot drop in Lumbar disease and MIS surgery for thoracic disc.
