About me

As an integrative therapist I am able to work in a way that is responsive to the requirements of each individual rather than trying to make the person fit a single approach. Where appropriate I use the link between the mind and body to demonstrate how feelings, significant events, and lifes challenges are processed through this connection and where an understanding of this can often bring about more choice and possible options over changes a person may wish to make.

I work with people whose problems are specific and also those that seem less specific such as unhappiness, general dissatisfaction with life, feelings of emptiness or confusion, or simply feeling different.

Often current difficulties can be resolved within the framework of short-term counselling while some more long-standing problems can require longer-term psychotherapy. This can entail looking in greater depth at the influential relationship between past and present. I will work with you to establish which of these pathways is most appropriate for you and best suited to the issues you wish to focus on.

I have a background in working with children, families, mothers & babies. I have worked for the NSPCC on Domestic Abuse/Coercion/Violence and Sexual Abuse/exploitation and within a local authority supporting adopted/fostered children.

I also provide therapy for Psychologists and Psychotherapists/Counsellers in training being a member of the Leeds University networks. My specialist interest is working with people who have experienced any form of coercive behaviour/control/violence or oppression in any guise from 1 on 1 relationships through to cults. I work with people who may wish to process these experiences whilst increasing knowledge of how to spot the signs of controlling/coercive behaviours within individuals or groups. I also work with anyone experiencing chronic PTSD.
