About me

Dr Helbling’s post at the Leicester Royal Infirmary (LRI) is based at the adult dermatology outpatients department, where she does general dermatology clinics, skin cancer screening clinics and skin surgery. Dr Helbling is co-leading the paediatric dermatology service at LRI. She offers Spire Hospital patients the same expertise she continues to develop through her NHS work.
Dr Helbling has practised dermatology since 1995. Over the years, she has developed expertise in both common and rare dermatology complaints. She enjoys the challenges of caring for patients with skin diseases that are difficult to diagnose clinically and has good links with the skin pathologists at the LRI. Dr Helbling is very effective in supporting and managing patients with chronic skin disease, such as eczema and psoriasis. With them, she decides on the treatment they need depending on their personal, inter-personal or professional circumstances.
Dr Helbling is Honorary Associate Professor and Undergraduate Dermatology Lead at the University of Leicester. She has developed the British Association of Dermatologists App for medical students, which has open access worldwide.
