About me
Mr Nasir Shah is a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon at Warrington hospital, with a specialist interest in upper limb. He is also an honorary senior lecturer at Edge Hill University.
He trained in orthopaedics in the Mersey region followed by completing the Liverpool Shoulder fellowship. Later on, he undertook a sub-specialist upper limb fellowship at Wrightington Hospital.
Mr. Shah is competent in complex upper limb trauma. He undertakes all upper limb fracture fixations from percutaneous scaphoid fixation to clavicle fixation as well as shoulder replacement for complex shoulder fracture.
His Hand & Wrist practice includes the management of carpal tunnel syndrome, trigger finger, Dupuytrens disease and arthritis of thumb, fingers and wrist.
His Shoulder practice includes operative and non operative management of painful shoulder. He also undertakes arthroscopic (key hole) shoulder surgery for impingement syndrome, rotator cuff tears, shoulder dislocations and frozen shoulder as well as joint replacement surgery of the shoulder and fingers.
He is a Research and Innovation Lead of Warrington & Halton Teaching Hospitals Orthopaedic department. His research has been presented both nationally and internationally and he is a published author of various scientific papers.
He is a member of the British Elbow & Shoulder Society, British Society of Surgery of Hand, Orthopaedic Trauma Society and a faculty member of the AOUK Trauma group and AOUK Hand & Wrist group. He teaches both at national and International levels. He is also an examiner for MRCS and FRCS (Tr & Orth).
