About me
Professor Sion Glyn-Jones read medicine at Cambridge and later conducted his clinical attachment in London. Thereafter, he went on to complete his surgical and orthopaedic training in Oxford, where he gained a DPhil. He subsequently worked as a specialist Hip Fellow in Melbourne, Australia.
He is now Professor of Orthopaedic Surgery at Oxford University and works as a Consultant Hip Surgeon at the Nuffield Orthopaedic Centre where he is Clinical Lead for the Young Adult Hip Service. He works closely with the Sport Injury service at both The Manor Hospital and Nuffield Orthopaedic Centre. He has a specialist interest in keyhole surgery of the hip, sports injuries of the hip and performing complex hip replacements in younger and active older patients.
Professor Glyn-Jones leads an internationally recognised hip research team based at the Oxford University Institute of Musculoskeletal Sciences. His research focuses on evaluating new types of hip replacement and testing new surgical technologies designed to prevent or slow the progression of osteoarthritis of the hip(https://www.ndorms.ox.ac.uk/team/sion-glyn-jones)
