About me

Mr Mark Jeffery is a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon at University Hospital Lewisham, London where he is a specialist in Shoulder and Upper Limb Surgery.

He provides a comprehensive upper limb service including minimally invasive and arthroscopic surgery, to treat many conditions such as: shoulder replacements, frozen shoulder, tendonitis, rotator cuff tear, dislocation, biceps injury, carpal tunnel, instability and all forms of arthritis. As a sports injury specialist he regularly treats rugby, swimming, rowing, golf, tennis and athletic related shoulder and upper limb injuries, his involvement is sport and rugby coaching provides a good dual perspective of treatment needs.

Mr Jeffery attend Charing Cross and Westminster Medical School, (Imperial College) London and completed his surgical training in London. Mr Jeffery completed his Orthopaedic Registrar training at The Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital . Mr Jeffery has been awarded two specialist fellowships, one in complex reconstructive surgery and in advanced arthroscopic techniques at the Epsom Shoulder Unit in Surrey and a Trauma Fellowship at The Royal London, Trauma Unit.

Appointed as The Educational Lead in Surgery for the Lewisham and Greenwich NHS trust London he holds the responsibility for surgical training, both pre and post graduate level. He is also a Royal College of Surgeons College Tutor, the role actively involves teaching and examining pre and postgraduates in orthopaedic surgery. He has been awarded a commendation by the surgical trainees as The Trainer for Clinical Supervisor of the year, London and The Trainer Educational Supervisor of the year, London.
